We, the Board of Directors, Executive Management, and Operations Staff, are dedicated to our members and their financial needs. We understand that what is good for our members is good for our credit union. As a not-for-profit financial service cooperative – owned and controlled by all of the members – we work for your benefit.
Generations is committed to a concept known as the "Triple Bottom Line", a term first widely used in the 1990's. Read more at the above link.
Briefly stated, the Triple Bottom Line is "an accounting framework with three parts: social, environmental (or ecological) and financial." Generations embraces the concept that the actions of our organization have wider consequences than are simply reflected on a financial statement. Accordingly, we strive to create positive results in all three of the above areas.
Generations is committed to offering all of the products and services you have come to expect from us, as well as introducing new and innovative ways for our members to simplify their financial lives, protect their finances, and save money. We are also extremely proud of our history and the relationship with our original field of membership, the Washington State Employment Security Department. We will continue to strengthen and renew our relationship with you, our existing members.
Generations is also focused on emerging markets and attracting new members to join our organization. In recent years, we have become an integral provider of financing for renewable and energy efficient projects and equipment. This area of concentration has allowed us to help members lower their utility bills, conserve energy, install renewable energy sources, and support well-paying jobs in our communities. These efforts are fully in step with our focus on performance beyond the normal "bottom line."
